Growing plants by vegetative reproduction
Resource
This resource provides suggestions for various plants pupils can regrow from existing sources. For example, growing from vegetable tops. It also links with many different areas of the National Curriculum. Pupils will learn to apply their understanding of how plants can reproduce asexually and deepen their understanding of how different plants begin life and grow. Ideas found within the Teaching Notes would make for great science club or gardening club activities.
Topics covered include: asexual reproduction, environmental studies, looking after a local environment, how plants grow well and conditions needed to grow plants.
Included in the downloadable zip file is guidance on considerations to make when growing a variety of plants.
