Growing seeds in the classroom – Activity 2
ResourceThis activity from Primary Booklet 1: Parts of a Plant and their Functions, provides the opportunity to see how seeds develop into seedlings over a period of time.
The pupils will observe how the seed swells and the seed coat splits. Then the roots emerge and grow followed by the growth of the shoot and green seed leaves.
This activity can be used to show how seeds grow into seedlings and a variety of seeds can be used including tomato, pansy, radish and mustard.
