Create a flower

This activity provides the opportunity for the children to show their understanding of the parts of a flower by creating a 2D or 3D flower. Pupils will create a 2D or 2D flower by carefully selecting appropriate materials to represent the different parts of a flower. This activity supports learning about the parts of a flower. Children should be shown images of or real flowers (preferably) beforehand to understand that flowers come in different shapes and sizes.

There is an opportunity here for children to develop skills cross-curricular (E.g. Maths with shapes and data collection, D.T. with junk modelling and Literacy with oral presentations).
