Investigating the hormone Auxin (IAA), a Plant Growth Regulator
Resource
This protocol allows students to investigate the effects of the hormone auxin (Indole Acetic Acid or IAA) as a plant growth regulator, giving opportunities to look at axiliary bud development, root development, and leaf abscission in Coleus. The method is suitable for independent investigations by students. Two potential investigations are suggested.
The resource is suitable for post-16 students.

"This is a good starting point to carry out the OCR required practical on plant hormones. I also contacted SAPS for some advice and they sent me a lot of information to try different investigations using plant hormones."
