Noticing Variation in Plants

Apart from ourselves and other humans, plants are the most obvious aspects of ‘biology’ in the world around us. And of course, variation abounds in the plants we see every day, whether that’s houseplants, in a park, in cracks in pavements, in our gardens or around our schools.

This homework activity requires students to identify continuous or discontinuous variation and interspecific or intraspecific variation in a novel context and gain experience of applying the biology they learn in lessons to the world around them.
